Effectively my first digital painting! (If you don't count all that ..."art"... I did as a kid.) To be honest, I have no clue what I am doing. I am not sure how to make this look more realistic, either.

I was inspired by ~Narandel's digital landscapes, so I tried creating my own... I must say I'm proud of this piece even though I realize that it is not particularly special.

Any tips, techniques, and critiques would be dearly welcome!

Looks great for your first piece! One thing that really helps to sell realistic is perspective. It is lacking in this painting. Also messing with light is another thing that drastically changes the mood and level of detail.
